Watt-hours, abbreviated Wh, tells you how much energy the battery can store. Think of it as the size of the power station’s fuel tank. The higher the Wh, the longer the battery can power your devices. For example, a 1,000Wh battery stores about four times as much energy as a 250Wh battery.

Watts tells you how much power the station can provide at one time. Some devices need very little power, while others need more. A phone charger or LED light may use only a few watts, while a small appliance might need several hundred watts. And, a 600W power station can run a device that needs 500W, while a 300W power station cannot. So, the higher the watt rating, the wider the range of devices you can use with the power station.

Now, a higher watt rating does not mean the battery holds more power or will last longer. It simply means the power station can handle devices that require more electricity.

How Much Power Do You Need for Camping or Emergencies?
